A few months ago, I wrote this post where I spoke about a new approach to our language-learning apps for kids. Specifically, I mentioned that, we were in the process of unbundling the Yoruba101 app to cater for specific topics in-depth. Since then, we’ve identified Greeting as the first subject to work on for obvious reasons. From my Yoruba cultural background to interactions with some of our Yoruba101 customers, Greeting is a popular subject. To further highlight its importance, Mayowa shared a piece entitled “Why greeting is important in Yoruba culture.”
As I type this, work on the Yoruba101 Greeting app is in good progress, hence we’re counting down to its release. Brielfy, it’s a separate app from the current Yoruba101 app with a focus on greeting. You’ll learn different Yoruba greetings with Ade, the oluko (teacher) from the existing Yoruba101 app. Rest assured, it has all the elements that make our apps fun and interesting namely; beautiful storyline, games, and lessons. This one also has a different feel to it. Last week, I began sharing updates with those of you who’d signed-up via this link. Our updates are exclusive to registered people and contain a lot more than I’m sharing here :-). Besides the updates, registered users will likely get some goodies, be eligible for testing etc. If you haven’t signed-up yet, click this link to do so and please share with anyone who you think might be interested in Yoruba greetings. I’d also like to reassure you that WE WILL NOT BE SPAMMING YOU.
Until the next update hits your inbox, here’s a shot from one of the scenes in the new app.
